What this service is, and who it's for
A ceramic coating is a semi-permanent layer of protection bonded onto the clearcoat that resists chemical staining, softens the impact of light contamination, and delivers dramatic water beading for years rather than weeks. We apply Gtechniq and CarPro coating systems in three durability tiers, 3, 5 and 7 years, chosen against how the vehicle is used, stored and maintained.
The job is the preparation as much as the coating itself. A coating locks in whatever surface it bonds to, so decontamination and, where required, machine paint correction are done properly first. Coat a swirl-marked car and you've protected the swirl marks for years; that isn't a job we do.
It suits owners of new vehicles wanting to lock in factory finish, buyers of used prestige vehicles being corrected up to a proper baseline, and any car staying with its owner long enough that the protection outlasts the purchase.

Consultation & Paint Inspection
We inspect the paint in daylight, discuss how the car is used, and agree the correct tier (3, 5 or 7 year) and whether correction is needed first.

Deep Decontamination Wash
Full decontamination, pre-wash, wheels, contact-safe wash, iron and tar removers, clay decontamination. Nothing bonded remains on the surface.

Paint Correction (if agreed)
Single, two or three-stage machine correction to remove swirls and defects. Coating over a corrected surface is the only way it looks how it should.

Panel Prep & Coating Application
Panels are wiped down with a coating-safe prep solution, then the coating is applied panel by panel and levelled to a uniform finish.

Cure & Aftercare Briefing
The coating is given controlled cure time before the car is used. You leave with an aftercare briefing so the coating is maintained in a way that keeps our workmanship warranty valid.

Gtechniq and CarPro are two of the professional coating brands with genuine track records in the UK detailing industry. Their systems are formulated for professional application under controlled conditions and deliver measurable, repeatable results, durability, gloss and hydrophobicity that DIY consumer sprays cannot match.
We select tier and product against the vehicle: 3-year for owners planning shorter ownership or wanting a lower entry point; 5-year for the typical daily driver; 7-year for prestige, garaged and lower-mileage vehicles where the maximum lifespan is realistic.
The role of paint correction
Ceramic coatings are transparent. Anything under them stays visible for the life of the coating. That's why serious detailers won't coat a car without inspecting for swirl marks, oxidation and wash marring, and why we're upfront about whether correction is needed before coating.
For many vehicles a single-stage enhancement is enough; for prestige and dark paintwork, two or three-stage correction may be recommended. We inspect and quote correction separately, the coating price and the correction price are always broken out.
Warranty and accreditation, in plain English
Every coating we apply is backed by our own workmanship warranty, valid for up to half of the coating's stated lifespan when maintained per the aftercare briefing. Aftercare means safe wash technique, the kind included in our Maintenance and Essential wash formats, and avoidance of the aggressive drive-through wash chemistry that shortens any coating's life.
Official brand accreditation with the coating manufacturers requires a dedicated studio, and ours is nearing completion. Accreditation will follow immediately once the unit is finished. We disclose that upfront because it matters and because you deserve the honest picture.
Aftercare, how to keep the coating alive
Use safe wash methods only, two-bucket, fresh mitt, pH-neutral shampoo. Avoid automatic washes and aggressive chemical strippers. Where possible, book Maintenance or Essential washes with us; our routine wash chemistry is coating-safe by design. Address contamination (bird droppings, tree sap, industrial fallout) reasonably promptly rather than leaving them for weeks.

The coating needs a controlled cure window; we'll give you specific timings on handover. Short journeys are usually fine after the cure period; heavy weather and washing are avoided for longer.
Do coatings prevent stone chips?+
No coating stops rock impact, paint protection film (PPF) is the material for that. Ceramic coatings resist chemical staining, water spotting and light marring, not physical impact.
